On December 7, 2023, Anguilla celebrated a landmark event with the groundbreaking ceremony for the Altamer Marina, now known as Port Nimara. This development, located between Cap Juluca and the Altamer Resort near Maunday’s Bay, is set to become Anguilla's first mega yacht marina.
The project will feature 118 berths accommodating yachts up to 240+ feet, a 62-room five-star hotel, 18 beachfront villas, and 45 hillside residences. The ceremony was attended by government officials, tourism stakeholders, and community members, marking a significant step in enhancing Anguilla's tourism and maritime sectors.
Construction is expected to be completed in early 2027, with the hotel and villas following in early 2028.
